Hoovle may record a student's first name, middle name, last name, date of birth,
email address and gender to allow teachers neccessary information in dealing
with a specific student. This information can be viewed or editted only by the school administrator, school editors (administator, but with certain restrictions), guardians of the student, or one of the teachers of the student's class (as well as the Hoovle Support Team for security measures). Certain information is encrypted when stored on the server for added security Messages between students and their respective teachers or guardians are private, however are subject to a filter search (which checks messages for inappropriate content). A student's very existance in Hoovle is invisble to anyone but their respective teachers, guardians and the school administrator and editors (for example, a teacher at the school who does not have that student in one of their classes, cannot contact or even see any of their information). The exception to this, however, is that if for example, a school signs up and wants to add a student to their Hoovle system, the school can check to see if that student already uses Hoovle. In that case, only the student's full name and attending school can be seen Hoovle may only use a student's name for other purposes if the following occurs: Permission from all guardians (if under 18) Permission from school administrator |
